Read the pump lesson sequence
- Empty bag. Start with the delivery set and extension clamp closed. The patient-end connector stays off the G-tube.
- Fill the bag. Fill the bag and close the cap. Use the feeding solution and amount in the care plan.
- Load the pump. Open the cover, seat the tubing loop and cassette, and close the cover.
- Join the ENFit ends. Connect the delivery set to the extension. Keep the extension disconnected from the G-tube for priming.
- Power on and wait. Hold ON/OFF at the top left until the beep. Release it, then wait for the startup sequence and the rate screen.
- Unclamp to prime. Open the extension clamp. Keep the patient-end connector disconnected while priming.
- Start auto-prime. With Auto Prime enabled, hold PRIME at the middle left for 1.5 seconds until the beep, then release.
- Watch the liquid advance. Watch liquid travel through the delivery tubing and extension. Priming is shown faster here; check the full tubing path.
- Repeat priming if needed. If the cycle ends and air remains, hold PRIME again for 1.5 seconds. Continue watching for liquid at the free connector.
- Prime through the extension. Continue until liquid reaches the extension’s free connector and air has been removed. The G-tube remains disconnected.
- Stop auto-prime. Press PRIME again to stop auto-priming when the tubing and extension are primed. The rate screen returns and the pump is paused.
- Clamp the extension. With priming complete and the pump paused, close the extension clamp before attaching to the G-tube.
- Attach to the G-tube. Align, insert, and turn the primed extension connector to secure it to the G-tube. Keep the clamp closed during attachment.
- Unclamp after connection. After the connector is secure, reopen the extension clamp. Check the pump settings before starting the feed.
- Set the feed volume. Press RATE/DOSE at the bottom middle to show DOSE, the volume to deliver. Use + at the middle right or − at the bottom right to match the prescribed volume.
- Check the rate. Press RATE/DOSE again to show RATE in mL/hr. Use + or − as needed, and confirm the prescribed rate.
- Check the feed interval. For this single-feed example, check that FEED INT shows NONE. A repeating feed interval is a different setup.
- Check and clear this-feed volume. Press VOL/TOTAL once to show the volume delivered for this feed. While paused, briefly press CLEAR at the top right and verify 0 mL.
- Distinguish volume from total. A second press of VOL/TOTAL shows the cumulative TOTAL since it was last cleared. This is separate from the current-feed volume and does not reset at midnight.
- Start the feed. After confirming the connection, open clamp, prescribed settings, and zeroed current-feed volume, press RUN/PAUSE at the bottom left. Look for the moving run symbol.
- Check the delivered volume. Use VOL/TOTAL to view the current-feed volume while the pump runs. At the example rate of 120 mL/hr, the expected increase is about 2 mL per minute.
- When the set dose is delivered. In this single-feed example, the pump stops after delivering the programmed dose and shows DOSE DONE.
This concept shows one generic pump setup, priming, connection, and feeding flow. For your equipment’s preparation and operation, refer to the Moog Infinity guide and MIC-KEY instructions. Prescribed settings and care plans come from your care team.
